Mercer Apartments
Designed to capture the classic charm of old Kingston, the Mercer apartments were designed with generous proportions throughout. The development includes 11 - 3 bedroom apartments, a common room with individual wine cellars and basement parking.
The buildings monumental form is complimented by the striking cantilevered curved masonry wall, which wraps the corner acknowledging Capitol Hill. The material palate was chosen with hand crafted finishes in mind. Roman bricks with exquisite corbel detailing around the balconies and parapet. Copper cladding articulates the buildings entry and upper level. A coherent grid of oversized double glazed windows on each facade are trimmed with fabricated steel awnings.
The design was conceived by COX Architecture and Aplus Group. Thursday Architecture were engaged to undertake construction documentation and on-site project assistance.
